Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of whey protein concentrate?

Like all protein powders, whey concentrate can enhance your muscle-building abilities by increasing your strength and helping you maintain muscle definition.

It’s also tasty, filling, and provides fuel for your workouts and daily activities, making whey protein concentrate an excellent addition to your healthy diet plan while reaching your daily macro targets.

What is the difference between the different types of whey protein?

Whey concentrate and whey isolate are both complete protein sources that are derived from cow’s milk, the difference lies in the overall percentage of protein by weight.

Whey concentrate contains around 70-80% protein, whereas whey isolate has a protein content of 90% or above. Whey isolate has excess fats and carbs removed during processing, which leads to this higher amount of protein per gram.

Both types are brilliant options, with whey isolate being especially epic for anyone with high-intensity fitness and muscle-building goals. On the flipside, the whey concentrate is a great choice for enhancing your all-round health and hitting your daily macro count.

When should I take whey protein concentrate?

If you’re actively trying to build muscle mass, we recommend taking your protein shake within an hour of finishing your workout.

This anabolic window is the prime time to flood your body with high-quality protein as your muscles begin to repair after being put under stress when lifting weights.

Alternatively, you can drink your Whey Complete protein shake at any point during the day to meet your macro targets while experiencing the health and fitness benefits of pure whey protein powder.

How do I take whey concentrate protein?

Simply shake up two scoops (30g) of protein powder with either 175ml of water or milk.

Whey Complete is tasty enough as a shake on its own, but you can also add in some fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients to make a protein-packed smoothie. If you’re feeling really adventurous, you can also use our whey concentrate as an ingredient to make sweet treats like cookies, brownies, or overnight oats. Delicious-ness.

Is whey protein concentrate powder safe to use?

Absolutely. Every Smart Protein product contains safe and effective ingredients—and our Whey Complete protein powder is no different.

Simply take your protein shakes in moderation as part of a healthy diet and exercise plan and you’ll enjoy the results you deserve. As Whey Complete is a whey-based protein source, it is not suitable for those with an allergy or intolerance to dairy.

Does whey protein concentrate contain lactose?

As a dairy-based protein source, whey concentrate does contain lactose. Whilst around 70-80% of whey concentrate’s weight is protein, the remainder contains fat, lactose, and various minerals. Therefore it is not suitable for those with a lactose intolerance or an allergy to dairy products.

Does whey protein concentrate contain gluten?

No, whey protein concentrate does not contain any gluten. Our Whey Complete powder is absolutely gluten free, so you can enjoy a delicious protein shake even if you have a gluten intolerance.

It’s also GMO and soy free, and is suitable for vegetarians. The only allergen to be aware of is dairy, as whey is derived from cow’s milk.
